Smoking Cessation
We strongly advise you to quit smoking. It can lead to many health problems including cancer, heart disease, lung disease and stroke. There is advice on ways to quit smoking and general tips on the NHS website.

Mental Health
- 18-25’s Counselling Service (provided by Healthbox). If you are between the ages of 18-25, you can self-refer for access to free mental health telephone support service. Please email info@healthboxcic.com
- Talking Therapies is for adults and older people aged 16 years and over, with mild, moderate and moderate-to-severe symptoms of anxiety or depression, who are likely to benefit from brief psychological therapy. There are a variety of ways in which they can offer you help depending on your needs, these include: computerised packages, group interventions, telephone contacts or individual sessions.
- Cafe 71 on St Anne Street in Chester is there to support patients with mental health issues, especially at times of crisis. It is a safe, non-clinical, community space for anyone struggling to cope. If you would like to contact them, you can do so by phoning 01244 393139 or email enquiries.chester@spiderproject.org.uk. They are open 10am-10pm, 7 days per week, ages 18+.
- NHS 111 - If your mental or emotional state quickly gets worse or deteriorates, this can be called a ‘mental health crisis’. In this situation, it is important to get help quickly. Please call NHS 111 and select the mental health option to talk to a mental health professional. They will be able to support you to get the help/advice you need. The service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
